Do you know what the Gold Star Pin represents?
Gold Star lapel pins like the one shown below are presented to surviving spouses, parents and immediate family members of United States Armed Forces members who are killed in combat operations. As you can see, it is a simple pin with a beautiful gold star on a purple circular background.
Many people do not recognize this pin when they see it. When you see one be sure to acknowledge the great sacrifice of the families who are presented these special pins . . . and remember the fallen.
