In just a few week's time sporting champion and renowned shooting coach Andy Duffy just shot only his second 100 straight at Sporting Clays and fellow Browning Pro-Staff shooter Robbie Purser just shot his first 100 straight in sporting clays. And they both did it with brand new Browning Citori 725 over and unders they had received recently.
To be honest, we expected them to practice a bit before they would begin getting all the advantages of the lower profile, improved handling, mechanical triggers and the new Invector DS Chokes of the 725, but it didn't take any time at all.
Andy Duffy. Duffy -- who is making a comeback into the top sporting circles -- was elated to find that his new 725 felt so well right out of the box. Duffy has been shooting competitively for over 23 years and during that time has been on the NSCA All American Team 17 times, Team USA 20 times representing the United States in 13 different countries and has over 150,000 lifetime registered targets.
He shot his 100 straight with his new Citori 725 at a registered charity shoot at Windwalker Farms in Midland, Texas.
He has the distinction of being the only shooter to claim the NSCA National Championship title 3 times winning it first in 1994 then successfully defending the title in 1995 and claiming it again in 2002. In 2005 Andy was honored by being inducted into the NSCA Hall of Fame.
Andy is a threat everywhere he shoots, including All-Around High Honors at the Pan American Sporting Clays Championships held in San Antonio in April.
Robbie Purser. Our great friend Robbie shot his 100 straight at The Meadows National Gun Club in Forsyth, Georgia on Saturday, June 23. Apparently this is his first 100 straight at a registered sporting clays shoot ever! The shoot is called the NWTF Warm-Up. But the incredible part of this news it that this was the first registered shoot Purser entered since he received his new Browning 725 for review and testing -- a few short weeks ago. Like Duffy, Purser found the fit and feel to be uncanny right out of the box.
Purser is a Browning Pro-Staffer who started shooting skeet at the very young age of six. He was a fast learner. He is the a two time National Champion and has won numerous Georgia State Championships.
Over the years he has accumulated an impressive list of shooting titles including:
He is also a twelve-time All-American Team member, a member of Team USA and a ten-time Georgia State Champion. All told, Robbie has more than 200 tournament wins to his credit.
